Last week, the Sarco Wind Farm held an activity called “Open Wind Farm”, in which representatives from various communities became acquainted with the construction and assembly process of this renewable energy project.

This activity is included in the ongoing dialogue and information processes that Aela establishes with its neighboring communities. It is a practical way to engage communities with the Wind Farm’s construction, to update them on the progress of the project, its different stages and its operation.

“This Open Wind Farm is consistent with our commitment to establish close relationships with communities, not only through meetings and face-to-face dialogue, but also inviting them to our home. This will be continued as an ongoing practice, both in the construction process and during the wind farm’s operation, explains Simón López, head of Community Relations at the Sarco Wind Farm.

To this event, the first of many that will be held to report on the wind farm’s construction, 15 community residents were invited from Carrizalillo and 15 from Chañaral Aceituno. Both are localities in the Municipality of Freirina, where the project is located.
