During Thursday afternoon on March 15th, the first oversized cargo equipment transport was carried out by the Oxxean company. Leaving from Puerto Chincui port, in Puerto Montt to the construction site at the Aurora Wind Farm, municipality of Llanquihue.

This occasion highlighted the arrival of a 170 MVA power transformer, manufactured by ABB Limited. This piece of latest technology, is key in the project operation, since it is responsible for raising the voltage from 33kV to 220kV, the voltage required to connect with the trunk line 220kV Rahue-Puerto Montt.

The energy generated by the Aurora Wind Farm will be conducted through an underground collector system to an elevating substation and then transformed and evacuated to the National Electric System (SEN), which will provide energy to around 215,000 homes.

The journey was taken through V-805, 5 south and V-30 routes until entering the project, during which police, authorities and communication media supported the cargo, keeping the locals informed during the 45 kilometres journey.

During April, the turbines transportation is anticipated to begin, which will make up part of the 43 wind turbines with a unit capacity of 3.0 MW, including the wind farm, completing a maximum power of 129 MW.
