Head of Environment, Social and Governance

Nicolás joined Aela in April 2014 as Head of Environment, Social and Governance in April 2014. He holds a degree in forestry engineering from the Universidad de Chile and an MA in development, management and assessment, University of Antwerp, Belgium.

He has developed an interesting career in both the public as well as private sectors. Prior to Aela he worked as an environmental and social management consultant for projects related to the energy and mining sectors. He was also head of the National Irrigation Commission’s territorial development unit, part of the Chilean Agriculture Ministry. In addition, Nicolás was Executive Director of the NGO Tekhne, which undertakes rural development projects related to renewable energy, irrigation, agriculture and forestry.
